Healing
Touch for Animals® (HTA) is a bio-field energy-medicine modality combining
philosophies, techniques and applications to promote
energy balance and healing of our animals. This program introduces holistic
concepts to assist with injuries, illness, surgeries, wound healing,
behavioral problems and stress related issues. See our "Frequently
Asked Questions."
Healing Touch for Animals® / Komitor Healing Method, Inc. (HTA/KHM) uses bio-field therapies – recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) – to integrate, balance and clear the energy body. It works by releasing endorphins to establish a deeper relaxation and state of being, allowing the body to function at a greater level. By allowing muscles to relax, circulation is increased, sending more oxygen, nutrients, and hormones into the body to support healing. Learn more about the Physiological Response of Energy Healing. HTA/KHM Techniques work on all levels of the body: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. These techniques allow the animals to come into a deeper instinctual presence and knowing of their body.
HTA/KHM Techniques are largely based on Healing Touch for humans. The energy-based modality of Healing Touch has been recognized throughout the human medical community since 1989 and is used by more than 75,000 healthcare practitioners worldwide to help provide whole body wellness. These techniques are designed to enhance the healing process and do not replace traditional medical or veterinary healthcare, medical diagnosis, or medical treatment for illness. HTA Practitioners do not provide medical diagnosis, prescribe medications or perform surgery. Refer to a licensed medical or veterinary practitioner for medical care.
HTA/KHM Workshops are being taught throughout the United States, in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, The Netherlands and in parts of Europe. Read about the first workshop taught in 1996.
Techniques taught in HTA Workshops are designed to enhance the healing process and do not replace traditional medicine or veterinary healthcare. The techniques promote a beneficial way to blend holistic healthcare and traditional medicine.

From the Founder, Carol Komitor
The First Healing Touch for Animals® Workshop
The first HTA workshop was held March 9, 1996 in Hunt, Texas, following a 3-day workshop Carol Komitor taught on Healing Touch/Level I (for humans). The workshops were held at Waldemar, a residential setting, in the hill country of Central Texas.
Waldemar is a special place that provided an atmosphere of serenity as we explored the energy-medicine teaching. The many stone buildings held our fascination as we wondered what stories they might tell of this magical place. The energy of the Green River running through Waldemar's vast acreage and the pregnant foliage ready to explode with Spring's abundance gave us a sense of excitement as we explored the Healing Touch for Animals® work.
The resident horses, dogs, pot-bellied pig and little burro (see photo) provided our experiential fun as we investigated the energy systems of the animals.
The people who gathered at workshop were all very special, as is every student. They came to learn how to balance and heal their animals. In turn, they also found new avenues to help themselves heal. The piece that came together for the students was how working on the animals helps to facilitate the self-healing process. By helping to heal ourselves and others (whether it be a person or an animal), we can create wholeness at a greater level, affect the healing of our planet and make a difference in our world.
